HANOI (Reuters) – Vietnamese President and ruling Communist Party chief To Lam will pay a working visit to the United States next week and attend the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, a government statement said.

Lam will then pay an official visit to Cuba, Vietnam’s long-standing communist partner.

The statement said Lam’s visit will take place from September 22 to 27. The statement did not specify a specific time frame for Lam’s visit to each country.

Lam will deliver a speech at a UN event during his visit to the United States and meet representatives from several American companies, including Alphabet Inc’s Google and Facebook Inc’s Meta during his visit to the United States, Reuters reported on Tuesday.

The government statement did not mention whether Lam would meet US President Biden during her visit to the United States.
