A woman from New Jersey is Sue JetBlue After she said she broke one of her front teeth on an ice cream cone served by the airline on a flight from New York to Paris.
Chiara Quiñonez claims the airline served her a strawberry-flavored ice cream cone that was “dangerously cold” and frozen “at a lower temperature than is reasonable or safe for consumption.” She sued JetBlue, alleging “serious and permanent bodily injuries” from biting into the candy.
JetBlue did not respond luckRequests to comment on the lawsuit.
Quinonez claims she broke her upper left lateral incisor — the tooth just to the left of her left front teeth — and suffered what is known as a root fracture. She says in the lawsuit that she needed immediate medical treatment when the plane landed in Paris.
The lawsuit over the alleged icy injury comes just over three months after JetBlue was sued by another passenger who says that He suffered severe burns When “hot” tea was served during a period of turmoil.
The alleged incident occurred on a flight on May 15, when the plaintiff said she suffered “disfiguring” burns to her upper chest, breasts, legs, left buttocks and right arm due to the tea, which the suit says was served “at a moderate temperature.” Unreasonably hot and dangerous beyond what is acceptable in the food service or aviation industry.
Lawsuits aside, it’s been a turbulent year for JetBlue. The carrier announced in March that it would remove some cities from its flight list and cut flights from Los Angeles, Las Vegas and other cities. The carrier also reported net profits of $26 million for the second quarter, but forecast losses for the rest of the year, marking the fifth consecutive year of losses.
