The architect of Hamas’ brutal invasion of Israel was killed in a shootout with Israeli forces.
Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the architect of the brutal invasion of Israel on October 7, was killed in an exchange of fire with Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip, an Israeli military spokesman confirmed. Al-Sinwar was killed when Israeli army soldiers opened fire on a group of terrorists on the ground floor of a building in Rafah, in an exchange of fire that began on Wednesday. When soldiers entered the collapsed building on Thursday, they found that one of the dead terrorists bore a striking resemblance to Sinwar.
Earlier this evening, a joint announcement issued by the Shin Bet Security Service, the IDF Spokesperson, and the Israeli Police stated that Israel is working hard to fully determine whether the body in its possession is Sinwar. A photo of the corpse’s teeth was sent to Israeli police laboratories to confirm whether the teeth match his teeth when he was a prisoner in Israel. DNA tests were also conducted to confirm Sinwar’s death.
