Days after
renewing its partnership with Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club,
international payments provider AstroPay, has inked a new deal with another
English football club, Tottenham Hotspur. The club announced the collaboration
on Friday, noting that AstroPay is its new Official Payment Partner.

As a
payments firm seeking global growth, AstroPay over the years has turned to
European sports, particularly football clubs in England. Last year, the
payments firm signed a sponsorship agreement with South London-based football
club, Crystal Palace.

Previously, it was the sleeve sponsor of Burnley FC during the 2021 Premier League campaign.
Its deal with the Lancashire-based football club dates back to a partnership arrangement during the
2018/2019 football season.

“Our vision
at AstroPay is to blend the worlds of finance and sports, creating unparalleled
experiences,” Sofía Muró, AstroPay’s Vice President of Global Product Sales, said
in a statement, speaking on the new sponsorship deal with Tottenham
Hotspur.

According
to the statement, the new arrangement with Tottenham Hotspur comes with several fan-focused offerings,
including a “Spurs-branded prepaid card” that will give fans of the London-based club
“exclusive benefits and rewards tied to the club.”

As part of
its recent
partnership with the Wolverhampton Wanderers (the Wolves), AstroPay also further embed
its services with the club’s products, for instance, allowing fans to use its service at the
checkout point on the club’s online store. Carolina Gama, the VP of Marketing at
AstroPay, noted in a statement that the collaboration “aligns perfectly” with
the firm’s growth strategy, particularly in expanding its presence in the
European market.

Meanwhile,
retail forex and online trading firms are also not relenting in their
pursuit of global exposure that European football can bring to their business. This year alone, Axi
has signed a sponsorship deal with Girona FC, CFI with Sheffield United, TMGM with Chelsea, AUS Global with Real Betis, and eToro with SK Slavia Prague.
