The S&P 500 closed the first half of the year up 14%, but today’s pullback from its all-time high is somewhat ominous. Against this backdrop, however, it’s worth noting that the first three days of July are traditionally some of the strongest days of the year.
For the week, the S&P 500 fell 0.1%, the Dow Jones fell 0.1%, and the Nasdaq rose 0.2%.
During the month, the S&P 500 rose 3.5%, the Dow rose 1.1%, and the Nasdaq rose 6.0%.
On a quarterly basis, the S&P 500 rose 3.9%, the Dow Jones fell 1.7%, and the Nasdaq rose 8.3%.
