Israeli startup ATIS AviationGlobes, which was founded 30 months ago, is independently developing the ROC system for drones with a maximum weight of 150 kilograms for commercial and military use, sources told Globes.
ROC aircraft have vertical landing and take-off (VTOL) capabilities and can carry payloads of up to 40 kilograms (sensors or logistics payloads) and remain in the air for more than 20 hours. The drone has a point on the front to which photographic equipment can be fixed and a large payload space in the body (1.2 meters long). The drone has a hybrid drive system that includes electric motors and a jet-fueled engine.

The system is designed according to civil aviation standards and can therefore be flown in the same airspace with manned aircraft. This aims to benefit government sectors, such as the fire department, as the field of drones has gained momentum in recent years, whether in detecting or extinguishing fires.
The drone is designed to allow operation in a non-GPS environment, as many areas of the country experienced during the war, as well as in a maritime or urban environment. ROC operation is designed for a single pilot and full deployment of the system will be carried out with a team of at least two people and in a minimum time period of 30 minutes from arrival to take-off point and take-off. The company has developed a tactical deployment concept, which allows the drone to be taken off from the box on the trailer, after the box becomes the take-off surface.
Mark Colton, CEO of Attis Aviation, told Globes, “The reason we chose the military and paramilitary market as our first target markets was to realize that civilian customers would have difficulty accepting an unmanned aircraft system that has just finished development and has not yet been developed.” “. However, it has completed the entire maturation process, and on the other hand, the military customer is accustomed to receiving new UAV systems and integrating them into the force, while modifying the system with the manufacturer.
