Binance Executive Too Sick For Court, Nigerian Trial Postponed

Prison authorities in Nigeria have announced that Binance CEO Tigran Gambaryan is in custody “Very sick” Preventing him from appearing in court again to stand trial.

Earlier, Gambarian sought permission from the Nigerian Federal Court to allow him to post bail so that he could undergo surgery outside prison. However, the Federal Court rejected the bail request for the second time.

The Federal Court ruled that there was no evidence that the Nigerian Correctional Service could not deal with Gambarian’s medical condition.

Gambarian’s wife expressed her disbelief at this decision, saying that it was unfair to deprive her husband of the necessary medical care.

A Binance spokesperson also expressed dissatisfaction with the court’s decision, saying that Nigerian authorities have been illegally detaining Gambarayan for more than 220 days.

Through social media, Binance officials called for Gambarian’s immediate release due to his deteriorating medical condition.

Binance CEO Richard Teng even accused Nigerian authorities of requiring the cryptocurrency exchange to comply with a “secret” deal to resolve existing legal charges against them — an accusation that Nigerian officials have refuted, claiming it is merely a diversionary tactic used by Binance.
