Strike, founded by Jack Mallers, aims to make Bitcoin accessible through its mobile app, which leverages the Lightning Network. Launching in the UK, Strike is now available in 100 countries worldwide.

To use Strike in the UK, users must pass a Bitcoin βsuitability assessmentβ test, which is required by local regulations. The app also includes the usual risk warnings.
Strike offers several features for UK customers, including purchasing Bitcoin through instant bank transfers, setting up recurring purchases, and self-custodial withdrawals.
The app also uses the Lightning Network to enable instant, unlimited, and free payments globally between Strike users, providing a seamless cross-border transfer experience.
While some companies have exited the UK market, their expansion reflects a belief in Bitcoin’s potential, Strike said. The UK offers opportunities as the world’s sixth largest economy.
