Cerebras Systems, an artificial intelligence (AI) company based in Silicon Valley, has secured a strategic partnership with G42, a prominent technology conglomerate based in the UAE. The deal will see the supply of three advanced AI supercomputers worth approximately $100 million. The collaboration comes as cloud computing providers around the world look for other alternatives to handle the growing demand for AI computing solutions, as Nvidia Corp. products face shortages due to the massive popularity of services such as ChatGPT.

Cerebras Condor Galaxy systems have garnered significant attention for their advanced capabilities, challenging Nvidia’s dominance in the AI ​​computing market. During this period, Cerebras CEO will collaborate closely with G42 to further develop their computing service using revolutionary AI systems. Feldman envisions this as a rare opportunity to transform the market by creating cutting edge AI computing solutions for different segments.

Based in Abu Dhabi, G42 is a technology conglomerate with nine operating companies specializing in data centers and cloud services business. With the acquisition of Cerebras’s AI supercomputers, the company aims to provide advanced AI computing services to sectors such as healthcare and energy, revolutionizing how these sectors can benefit from AI technologies.

The cooperation between the two companies represents a strong combination of expertise and resources, as G42 has received a large support of $ 800 million from the US technology investment company Silver Lake, which is strongly supported by the UAE’s sovereign wealth fund, Mudaraba.

A “white glove” service for success

Cerebras’ unique “white glove” service was central to the promotion of the new alliance. G42 Cloud CEO Talal Al-Qaisi commended the company for its seamless support in building AI systems on its devices, making collaboration a smooth and efficient process. He hinted at the possibility of leveraging excess capacity to deliver AI solutions to open source AI communities around the world, with a focus on the vibrant US ecosystem.

“Cerebras has what they call a ‘white glove’ service that makes it easier for us to build AI systems on their devices. There will be some excess capacity that we hope to wholesale with Cerebras to customers in the open source AI community from many places around the world, especially in the US ecosystem,” Al-Qaisi told Reuters.
