Chainlink saw a significant spike in developer activity in June as the decentralized oracle network climbed to second place behind Hedera, according to data from market intelligence platform Santiment.

According to Santiment’s analysis, Hedera remains the number one cryptocurrency in terms of GitHub activity. However, Chainlink developer data from its GitHub repository showed an increase in the number of events in the past 30 days, with the project rising to 2Second abbreviation.

Chainlink trading activity surged in June

Santiment was revealed in mail On July 1st, a list of the top 10 projects based on the number of GitHub events in June was published.

The ranking is based on calculating development activity by “counting any non-duplicate activity.” The platform then averaged the data based on the daily activity of the leaderboard over a 30-day period.

While Hedera continues to lead with 759 events on GitHub, Chainlink (on Ethereum) counted 526 events to take second place.

Optimism (OP) ranks third over the past 30 days with 481 events, while Internet Computer (ICP) ranks fourth with 434 events. According to the details, Cardano (ADA), Status (SNT), Cosmos (ATOM), ZKsync (ZK), Starknet (STRK), and Aptos (APT) complete the top 10.

How have these currencies performed over the past month?

The ranking of the top cryptocurrencies by developer activity for June contrasts with the market performance of these projects. Other than the recently launched Starknet and ZKsync, which saw massive volatility after their airdrops, the other coins have fallen along with the broader market in the past month.

HBAR dropped by 25% in June, while LINK, OP, ICP, and ADA ended the month at 22%, 28%, 32%, and 10%, respectively. Cosmos Hub and Aptos tokens also dropped by 19% and 22% over the 30-day period.

However, the high number of developer activity indicates that strong networks are being developed for these projects. This also means potential growth for the product and adoption by users, Santiment noted.

For example, the Chainlink team released: Adoption Update Over the past week, the announcement indicates that there have been 12 integrations for six Chainlink services across eight blockchain networks — including Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Polygon.

One such integration is the launch of Chainlink Data Streams on Avalanche.
