ChatGPT, a world-famous artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, has witnessed prof He falls In the hustle and bustle of June. This is the first month of decreased traffic ChatGPT has seen since it was launched to the public in November 2022.

Compared to the previous month in May 2022, ChatGPT traffic was down 10% during the month of June, according to traffic analytics website Likeweb. This includes the common drop in both – desktop and mobile.

Moreover, the number of people visiting the site and the time they spend on it has also decreased. The number of unique visitors to the site decreased by 5.7%, and users spend 8.5% less time on the site. In the US, there was a significant drop of 10.3% in monthly website traffic.

ChatGPT unleashes OpenAI vs. Google

The launch of ChatGPT last year in November 2022 by OpenAI took the tech industry by storm, with many seeing AI-generating automated chatbots as an alternative to search engines of the future. This means that from now on, OpenAI will deal with giant tech companies like Google.

But compared to Google, which attracts about 84 billion visitors each month, ChatGPT currently only has 1.8 billion visitors as of the last report in April. For comparison, Bing, a search engine with only about 3% market share compared to Google’s 93%, has more than 1.1 billion users.

OpenAI introduced the ChatGPT Plus subscription into its business model because the free version of ChatGPT had very high computing costs, Sam Altman mentioned. Other companies have also benefited from the use of OpenAI technology.

Microsoft has partnered with OpenAI to integrate GPT-4 into Bing Chat, creating a smarter search engine in the form of a chatbot. According to an analytics report from a similar site, traffic to the OpenAI developer site increased 3.1% from May to June.
