Disabled employees under strain as PIP cut rumours grow

0

Rumors of possible government policy changes – including more than 5 billion pounds in discounts of disability and possible reforms in personal independence payments (PIP)

The study, carried out by the BARNETT WADDINGHAM Consulting Company (BW), showed that 79 % of the disabled employees have suffered from fatigue, almost, twice the rate of their unacceptable peers, while 86 % of physically handicapped employees report health problems compared to 35 % of non -disabled workers. A quarter of the disabled employees feel that their employers fail to make reasonable adjustments to nervous diversity.

Fears regarding the distinction of these challenges: more than half of the disabled employees (52 %) have refrained from revealing a nervous diversity at work for fear of bias. This environment contributes to 76 % of the disabled employees to the feeling of insufficient, a number of only 37 % for uncommon colleagues.

If, after the spring statement on March 26, the government is moving forward with the rumors of the rumors, it will push more persons with disabilities to work. However, employers may be not ready for this flow. Thirty percent of the disabled workers say that the paid mental health leave is the most valuable support, while it gives 26 % of flexible work options and another 26 % want regular mental health records.

Julia Terney, partner and head of the platform and benefits at BW said: “The government is pressing for more disabled people in work, but we know that disabled individuals often face worse results once they use them, including high levels of fatigue, health issues and insufficient feelings. If more disabled individuals enter the workforce, employers must adapt the working conditions and benefits quickly To support them. Failure to do this can lead to a high rotation rate and a decrease in productivity.
