Donald Trump Makes Historic Bitcoin Payment At PubKey

2

Today, a historic event occurred when President Donald Trump became the first US President to issue a Bitcoin payment.

The former president came to PubKey, a Bitcoin-themed bar located in the heart of New York City’s Greenwich Village, to buy some cheeseburgers (even though there were none at the bar). National Cheeseburger Day) at the facility, which was filled with Bitcoin enthusiasts there to welcome him.

“I think it’s a great place,” Trump told Bitcoin Magazine about PubKey, before urging Bitcoin fans who frequent the bar to vote in November.

“Go out and vote, because if you vote, we won’t lose. We want to get everyone who agrees with you – and there are a lot of people – to vote,” he added.

“You have been treated very badly at the SEC, and we will treat you very fairly.”

Regarding the payment, Trump said it was easy to do and that it was done “quickly and beautifully.”

After completing the transaction, Trump, accompanied by one of the bar’s owners, Thomas Pacia, introduced himself to all present.

“This was one of the most significant Bitcoin transactions ever,” Paccia said.

“President Trump came to PubKey to engage with the Bitcoin community — to show his support for the Bitcoin community,” he added.

“We are very happy to have him here.”
