Meanwhile, in US markets, major indices rose slightly:
- The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 18.40 points, or 0.05%, to 39,824.35 points.
- The S&P rose 3.41 points, or 0.06%, to 5,311.69 (record close 5,308.14).
- The Nasdaq rose 13.25 points, or 0.09%, to 16,807.80. Yesterday the index closed at a record high, so anything positive today is a new record high.
The small-cap Russell 2000 index was down 6.27 points, or -0.30%, at 2,096.24.
