Ex-Binance Advisor Joins Kamala Harris Campaign Team

5

According to multiple reports, US Vice President Kamala Harris has now secured enough delegates to emerge as the official Democratic presidential nominee in the upcoming national elections. Following this development, Harris’ campaign team has now been bolstered with the addition of several senior political advisors, in preparation for what could be a historic election season.

Harris campaign team includes former Obama/Binance advisor

according to Reuters report David Plouffe, a former senior adviser to former President Barack Obama, joined Kamala Harris’ campaign team on Friday. Plouffe is best known as the campaign manager who led Obama’s successful 2008 presidential campaign while also serving as a senior aide to the 44th president during his 2012 reelection campaign.

However, since leaving the political scene, David Plouffe has made notable contributions to the cryptocurrency space, serving as a member of the global advisory board of the world’s largest exchange Binance in 2022, and serving as a global strategic advisor to cryptocurrency payment provider Alchemy Pay.

However, it remains uncertain whether David Plouffe’s presence will now provide some clarity on Kamala Harris’ position on the cryptocurrency industry.

In an unseemly way, the cryptocurrency space has gained significant prominence in the run-up to the US national elections in November. Interestingly, Harris’s most direct and powerful opponent, former President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, has been very vocal in his support for digital assets in recent weeks.

Trump has promised a more supportive government with plans to shift away from the Biden administration’s “anti-crypto” stance. It is worth noting that he has expressed his intention to remove the current Chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Gary Gensler, and appoint a replacement who is open to adopting digital assets. Donald Trump is also a proud supporter of Bitcoin and seeks to use the token as a strategic reserve asset for the US dollar.

Kamala Harris has a choice to make

With the election fast approaching, Kamala Harris is expected to unveil potential policies regarding cryptocurrencies that could be important in shifting the election. So far, many Democrats have called on the presidential candidate and the Democratic Party in general to adopt a pro-crypto stance in an attempt to appease 52 Million Cryptocurrency Users Are ‘Disgruntled’ in the United States.

Along with David Plouffe, Kamala Harris’s ranks have also been bolstered by the addition of Stephanie Cutter, a Democratic communications expert, Mitch Stewart, a senior advisor in swing states, and David Binder, a public opinion research specialist, all of whom were part of Barack Obama’s campaign/cabinet team.
