Stavros Anastasiou, Group Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) at Finalto, has been named the new CEO of fintech’s retail brokerage unit, Markets.com. However, the senior executive’s LinkedIn profile shows that he got the appointment earlier in May.
Anastasio takes on the new role after serving in the previous position for more than five years, starting in January 2018. He previously worked for Markets.com when he held the position of Head of Compliance at Safecap Investments Limited between 2016 and 2018. It is regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, It is the operator of Markets.com.
Anastasio brings nearly 15 years of compliance management experience in the retail forex industry to the new executive position. Prior to joining Finalto, he worked at rival retail brokerage FxPro Group for more than six years, last year serving as Chief Compliance Officer.
Outside of the forex industry, Anastasiou worked in the professional services industry between 2005 and 2009 hiring rival Big Four accounting firms PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte. While working as a Senior Advisor on Mergers and Acquisitions at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Greece, he previously worked as a Senior Auditor at Deloitte.
