For the second time in the past four months, the Paris Commercial Court overturned a decision by the French government to ban Israeli companies from participating in a defense exhibition and ruled that they can participate in the Euronaval event, which opens on Monday. The court was responding to a petition filed by the Israel Manufacturers Association, Israel Shipyards, the Israel-France Chamber of Commerce, Elbit Systems, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, and Orbit.

This latest ruling represents a significant improvement over the previous ruling on the Eurosatory Defense and Security Expo in June, which was issued after the event had begun, meaning it was too late for Israeli defense companies to actually participate.

The petition claimed, among other things, that the French government’s decision on Euronaval directly harms the ability of Israeli companies to participate and compete in the European defense market. Overall, the petition focused on the principle of equality and the obligation of EU member states to ensure an open and free competitive market, while maintaining fair and non-discriminatory trade rules.

Contrary to the decision of President Emmanuel Macron regarding the Eurosatory exhibition, which comprehensively banned the appearance of Israeli companies in it, at the Euronaval exhibition, which will be held from next Monday to Thursday, Israeli companies have been approved for participation in the exhibition, but without any It seems that the pavilion or pavilion is an attempt to draw lessons. From the decision on Eurosatory.

At prominent fairs in general and at professional fairs in particular such as Euronaval, companies usually launch new products. For example, at the previous show in 2022, the Israeli shipyard company took the opportunity to unveil the Saar S80 corvette.

Euronaval, which has been held for 50 years, expects 300 companies from 30 countries to participate this year. While France bans Israel, it allows Turkey to participate as well as companies from the United States, Germany, Brazil, Finland, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Denmark and Greece.
