The Saudi newspaper Al-Sharq reported that Hamas rejects the Israeli proposal because it does not guarantee a permanent ceasefire.

The Saudi newspaper Al-Sharq reported that Hamas rejected the Israeli proposal after claiming that the offer was fundamentally different from the proposal made by US President Joe Biden. Hamas says the Israeli proposal “does not guarantee a permanent ceasefire, but rather a temporary ceasefire. Israeli forces will remain in the territory of the Gaza Strip, and when the hostages are released, the war will resume.”

Al-Sharq newspaper also quoted Hamas as saying: “When President Biden made his statements, the movement announced that it welcomed his words, because they embody the necessary elements to reach an agreement that leads to a permanent ceasefire and the withdrawal of the Israeli army.” From the Gaza Strip, significant aid entry, return of displaced persons, reconstruction, and prisoner exchange.

“The movement did not hesitate to immediately announce its positive position on these statements, because they are consistent with the proposal of May 6, when the mediators announced the content of the proposal that President Biden spoke about, which he said was Israeli.” It turned out that it was devoid of the positive elements that were mentioned in Biden’s statements, and there was a difference between what was stated in the proposal and what Biden presented, which raised many problems and controversy, and what Biden spoke about were his personal interpretations of the proposal, verbal agreements with Israeli officials or anything else. ?
