Monday – June 17th
- Volatility monitoring – Options trading Trading volume on Maxeon Solar has increased (Maxine). The most overbought stocks according to the 14-day RSI include Iris Energy (Erin), meniningen (WKME), and Adma Biologics (Adma). The most oversold stocks according to the 14-day RSI include Cibus Inc (CBUS), MongoDB (MDB) and UiPath (road). Short interest on Cutera is raised (Cotter) and tropanion (body) heading to work next week. Roaring Kitty options on GameStop (GME) Expires June 21.
- Earnings Monitoring – Notable companies scheduled to report include Lennar (LEN) and La-Z-Boy (LZB).
- The whole day – The quiet period ends at Bowhead Specialty Holdings (BOW) to free up analysts to publish ratings.
- The whole day – GE Vernova (GEV), Altus Power (AMPS), Phillips 66 (PSX) and ChargePoint Holdings (CHPT) are among the companies participating in the two-day JP Morgan Power, Energy and Renewables Conference.
- The whole day – Notable investor events include Qiagen's (QGEN) Capital Markets Day and Keros Therapeutics' (KROS) Business Update Call.
- The whole day – Walmart (WMT)'s members-only Walmart+ shopping event will start and run through June 23. The retail giant jumped ahead of Amazon's (AMZN) Prime Day event on the calendar this year.
- The whole day – French automaker Renault (OTCPK:RNSDF) will host a Dacia-focused event.
- 1:00 pm Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank President Patrick Harker will speak on the economic outlook at the Center for Global Coherence's 42nd Annual Monetary and Trade Conference.
Tuesday – June 18
- Earnings Monitoring – Notable companies scheduled to report include KB Home (KBH) and America's Car-Mart (CRMT).
- The whole day – Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) will hold its own HPE Discover event. CEO Antonio Neri will be joined on stage at Sphere (SPHR) in Las Vegas by Nvidia (NVDA) CEO Jensen Huang.
- The whole day – Notable investor events include R&D Day organized by Element Solutions (ESI), and Investor Day organized by Bread Financial (BFH).
- 8:30 am The May retail sales report will be released.
- 10:00 AM Nuvei (NVEI) holders vote to sell to Advent.
- 11:00 am Southwestern Energy (SWN) and Chesapeake Energy (CHK) received their respective owners' votes on the merger deal.
- 02:00 Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee is scheduled to participate in the “Economic and Monetary Policy” panel ahead of the 2024 Marshall Hybrid Forum.
Wednesday – June 19
- The whole day – US stock markets will be closed to observe the federal holiday of National Independence Day in June.
- The whole day – Rocket Lab (RKLB) is set to launch an electronic rocket for the “No Time Toulouse” mission, the first of five flights dedicated on behalf of French Internet of Things company Kinéis.
- 09:00 Charlie Giancarlo, CEO of Pure Storage (PSTG), will deliver a keynote address at the company's Pure//Accelerate conference.
Thursday – June 20
- Earnings Monitoring – Notable companies scheduled to report include: Accenture (ACN), Kroger (KR), Darden Restaurants (DRI), Jabil (JBL), and Winnebago (WGO).
- The whole day – Notable investor events include Ormat Technologies' (ORA) Investor Day, Enviri's (NVRI) Analyst Day, Pure Storage's (PSTG) analyst meeting as part of the Pure//Accelerate event, and the annual meetings of DoorDash (DASH) and eBay (EBAY). .
- The whole day – West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures will expire in June. Crude oil futures have seen additional volatility over the past year in contract expiration dates.
- 12:30 pm. -Closed meeting of the Federal Trade Commission.
- 4:00 pm Richmond Federal Reserve Bank President Thomas Barkin will speak to the Risk Management Association.
Friday – June 21
- Earnings Monitoring – Notable companies scheduled to report include CarMax (KMX) and FactSet (FDS).
- The whole day – The stock market could see additional volatility with a triple witch day that features the simultaneous expiration of stock options, stock index futures, and stock index options contracts.
- The whole day – This is the FDA action date for Sarepta Therapeutics' (SRPT) elevidys to treat Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Argenx's (ARGX) Vyvgart treatment for adults with the autoimmune disease.
- After-sales – The S&P 500 Index, S&P MidCap 400 Index, and S&P SmallCap 600 Index will officially rebalance after the market closes. CrowdStrike (CRWD), KKR & Co. will join. (KKR), and GoDaddy (GDDY) to the S&P 500 Index at market open on June 24. (NXT), and Altair Engineering Inc. (ALTR), and RB Global (RBA) will head to the S&P MidCap 400. Meanwhile, Krystal Biotech (KRYS), Virtu Financial (VIRT), and StepStone Group (STEP) will head to the S&P MidCap 400 Index. Cactus Inc. will join. (WHD) and Tidewater Inc. (TDW) to the S&P SmallCap 600 Index.
