Roboteam received the order as part of its cooperation with US company Mistral, and the comprehensive agreement is expected to include 200 MTGR units as well as spare parts and maintenance services. The supply of military robotic systems has already begun, and the company expects to complete delivery of the entire order by the first quarter of 2025.
The MTGR is a combat-proven, lightweight tactical robot with the ability to maneuver in all terrains including dense urban environments including inside buildings and underground areas. The robot carries advanced cameras that transmit 360-degree video images, and has various command and control systems. The system is well adapted to all terrain with ladder climbing capabilities while carrying surveillance and other equipment that can be used by troops in engineering missions, defusing explosives, intelligence gathering and special missions. MTGR robots have been used by the Israeli army in Gaza in the current war and were an important means of dealing with tunnels and allowing combat forces to maintain their tactical superiority while the robots were sent to explore the terrain.
Roboteam, founded in 2009, specializes in robotic systems for advanced military and security uses. The company has offices in Israel and the United States. Roboteam has developed a range of unique robotic systems, including miniature, agile robots weighing just 1.5 kg to collect intelligence, through to 1.2-tonne robots to carry advanced and heavy equipment as each mission requires.
Roboteam currently serves more than 30 customers worldwide including the US Air Force, which has hundreds of MTGRs as part of a large order worth more than $25 million.
