- The agreement, signed in Chicago, aims to establish Jabil as a major manufacturing hub in India, complementing its existing location. Established in Pune, Maharashtra.
- This investment by Jabil will create a new electronics manufacturing cluster in the region.
- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said the move was a testament to the state’s talent and infrastructure, and would further strengthen its position as a leader in advanced electronics and innovation.
- On social media Posted on XPM Stalin wrote, “Major investments secured for industrial progress in Tamil Nadu! A major investment of Rs. 2000 crore in Tiruchirappalli by Jabil, a leading global electronics manufacturer. This will create 5000 jobs and set up a new electronics manufacturing cluster.”
- In addition to the Jabil announcement, Prime Minister Stalin shared news of two other significant investments. Rockwell Automation (ROK) will expand its manufacturing operations in Kanchipuram with an investment of Rs 666 crore, creating 365 new jobs.
- Additionally, an MoU with Autodesk (ADSK) will focus on upskilling the youth and supporting MSMEs, strengthening the industrial ecosystem in Tamil Nadu.
