Mercedes-Benz (MBGAF, MBGYY) is working with Apptronik to automate Mercedes’ manufacturing with humanoid robots called Apollo.
With a body shape and size similar to a human, Apollo can use tools and equipment, navigate spaces like a human, and perform tasks that are more difficult for other robots. It can be mounted to any mobility platform, remain stationary, or be deployed with fully mobile legs. Apollo can lift 55 pounds and can take on more physically demanding tasks.
Just as important as its physical abilities is its cost-efficient, mass-manufacturable and energy-efficient design. And with swappable batteries that last 4 hours, Apollo can continue to work with a simple battery change rather than requiring a re-charge.
