The National Subcommittee for Office Rezoning into Housing has halved the space allocated for offices in the southeastern section of the Elif complex in Rishon Lezion, allocating it instead to the construction of 113 small apartments. This is the Subcommittee’s first resolution since its establishment in November 2021. The Subcommittee was created in the wake of the COVID pandemic due to a shortage of new residential projects and plans for excessive amounts of new office space.

In the original plan for the Elif complex by Moshe Dayan Railway Station in western Rishon Lezion, a 9,000 square meter office space was planned on Lot 1333, covering 2.5 dunams (2,500 square metres) in the southeastern section of the complex near a planned light station.
