Worldcoin, a cryptocurrency created by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, is expected to be launched on July 24.

The announcement was posted on the project’s Twitter on July 23.

The coin’s creators have given out Worldcoin (WLD) tokens to individuals all over the world. In turn, they must scan an eye’s irises using The Orb coin system.

Worldcoin has faced many challenges due to iris scanning and other issues. The token has attracted its share of criticism in Silicon Valley circles for its online identification and claims of financial inequality.

Moreover, in 2022, Buzzfeed mentioned That some people whose Worldcoins were cleared by the orb didn’t finish up with the coins they were promised.

Worldcoin is already for sale

According to crypto analyst ZachXBT, Worldcoin is allegedly being retailed at a discount, though a launch is yet to come.

The onchain screen, which also provided a quick clue, confirmed that WLD was being traded through an anonymous seller on Telegram.
