There was a very late showing in the oil market today that may have materialized as the major events unfolded in Russia.

In a video last week, Wagner founder Yevgeny Prigozhin appeared to say his 25,000-strong militia was heading to Moscow to oust the defense ministry’s leadership.

“Those who ruined our youth, who ruined the lives of tens of thousands of Russian soldiers, will be punished. I ask that no one resist… We will consider anyone who tries to resist a threat and destroy them quickly,” he said.

Not surprisingly, Russian officials did not take it well and today accused Prigozhin of armed rebellion.

And it seems that they are really afraid of some kind of civil war after the deputy commander of the Russian forces said in a video clip, “Stop the queues and return them to their permanent bases.”

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) also issued a statement saying that it should not obey “criminal and dangerous orders by Yevgeny Prigozhin and assist the Russian Armed Forces and the FSB in apprehending him along with other Wagner leaders.”

Besides, there are all kinds of rumors about what is happening on Earth.

It may not amount to civil war, but keep an eye out for Russia this weekend.
