A nationwide seed funding program for innovators in the color and dyeing sector has been launched for the third year in a row, offering up to £25,000 of equity investment per project.
The initiative, organized by The Dyers, invites entrepreneurs working in fields ranging from color chemistry and food technology to medical dyes, sustainable dyeing, textiles and more to apply before March 5, 2025.
Building on the success of the last two years, Dyers’ Seed Capital Investment Fund is designed to help early-stage companies bring their products and ideas to market, while strengthening the UK’s economic impact in colouring. Successful applicants will secure a minority equity investment and benefit from the organization’s extensive network and mentoring opportunities.
Martin Lane, Dyers’ Company writer, described this third year as a “milestone in our enduring commitment to the coloring industry.” Previous recipients include plant-waste dyeing startup SAGES London, and Post Carbon Lab, a biotech and textile technology company that turns carbon emissions into environmentally friendly colours. The dyers are credited with helping it prepare for international expansion and attracting more organisations. investment.
The first stage of the process involves submitting an online application by 5 March 2025. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited for an interview on 2 April 2025, at which final decisions will be made. Historically focused on supporting academics and students through grants and bursaries, The Dyers is now expanding its reach to entrepreneurial minds looking to shape the future of coloring.
