SSI aims to produce artificial intelligence with very high capabilities that allow it to develop useful applications independently such as developing medicines to treat diseases and new materials, with very strong protection that would prevent it from manipulating humans. When submitting the company's vision, Sutzkever pledged that it will not launch the AI model for the world before ensuring that all the necessary safety standards are met.
“Globes” revealed last month that SSI rented an initial research team in Tel Aviv, which includes researchers in the fields of computer science and mathematics, to build the company's artificial intelligence model.
Among the first employees to be appointed in Tel Aviv, Dr. Yair Carmon, the first lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science at Tel Aviv University. It is on an unpaid vacation so that he can work in SSI. Search for SSI ISRAEL, “Globes”, is done in complete secrecy. Employees do not publish that they are working on SSI on social media such as LinkedIn and many works from the home to enhance the maximum secret.
SSI's expansion in Israel comes amid reports by Reuters that the mother's Google and Nvidia has invested in the developer of artificial intelligence. The report, which signed earlier this month, confirmed a deal through the cloud computing section to provide access to the Royal Montivity Units (TPUS) to SSI. But it is not clear whether Alphabet and NVIDIA have invested as part of a billion -dollar financing round that was closed two months ago by SSI and its Greenoaks Capital Partners with an estimated value of $ 30 billion.
