Taylor Swift endorses Kamala Harris in 2024 presidential race

Taylor Swift has officially announced her endorsement for the 2024 presidential election, expressing her support for Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.

Swift made the announcement in an Instagram post moments after the first, and perhaps only, presidential debate between Harris and Trump ended on Tuesday night.

“I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election,” Swift wrote in the post. “I will be voting for (Kamala Harris) because she is fighting for rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to fight for.”

“I think she is a talented and steady leader and I think we can accomplish a lot in this country if we have calm and not chaos,” the post continued. “I am encouraged and impressed by her choice of running mate (Tim Walz), who has been an advocate for LGBT rights, IVF, and women’s rights to their own bodies for decades.”

She went on to encourage voters to do their own research on the issue and make an informed decision at the ballot box. She signed the post, “Taylor Swift, the cat lady who doesn’t have kids,” in reference to past comments by Trump’s vice presidential pick J.D. Vance.

Swift’s endorsement comes after Trump posted an AI-generated image last month that falsely suggested he had her support.
