Christmas, in many families, is a holiday of tradition. Dinners and breakfasts are the same every year. The same songs and movies are enjoyed. And the tree is always generally the same. However, UK retailer Argos is offering an alternative for people who want to enjoy the holidays – and it’s certainly turning heads.
Series Umbrella tree It is an eight-foot-tall Tannenbaum that abandons the traditional triangle shape and instead looks more like a Festivus column with a spruce-tipped wig.
The majority of the central support column is largely empty, except for a few false needles leading up to the anchor. At the top is a canopy of sorts, with a dense concentration of over 800 treetops. This allows owners to decorate the tree with hanging ornaments.
The tree currently retails for £157.50, or about $200 US.

Unsurprisingly, the tree’s unique look brought out funny people online, which meant Argos had to aim to keep questions on the product page. Among the now-removed questions people asked were “Where’s the rest?” You’re kidding, right?” and “Just why?”
The tree was made by a company called Premier Decorings, which has a unique vision of what a Christmas tree should be. While there are a large number of artificial tree manufacturers that lean toward the traditional look, this company chooses to go the other way.
Other distinctive decoration offerings include a 7 feet upside down Christmas tree (which is exactly what you would expect) and a 6-foot tree In the shape of a crescent.
