KIEV (Reuters) – Ukraine’s air force said on Thursday it had shot down 29 Russian-launched drones over eight Ukrainian regions during an overnight attack that officials said caused only minor damage.

The Russian Air Force said in a statement that Russia also fired three Kh-59 guided missiles during the attack.

The governor of the central Cherkasy region said the debris damaged the windows of a private business, while the governors of the Kyiv, Poltava and Kirovograd regions did not report any damage to infrastructure or casualties.

The governor of the southern Mykolaiv region said the air force had shot down five drones there, without providing details on the damage.

The governor of the southern Kherson region said eight more drones were shot down over the region, adding that various Russian attacks in the region had killed one person and wounded 13 others over the past day.
