WINNIPEG, Manitoba, May 26, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The 2023 Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) kicked off yesterday at the RBC Convention Center, in Winnipeg. Skills/Compétences Canada (SCC) has brought the event live for the second time this year. Viewers will be able to watch the opening and closing ceremonies, highlights from on-site competitors from various skill areas, interviews, and much more! The live broadcast will include footage from the competition and on-site interviews with partners, alumni, and members of the National Technical Committee and National Board of Directors.

The Saudi Cable Company distributes a video clip of the highlights of the live broadcast at the end of each day of the competition, yesterday and today. Media can download a video today two here and edit it to take the shots that interest them. This video includes content from each of the six industries and competitors from each province and territory. The full content of the live footage is also available at SCC YouTube channel. SCNC is the only national multi-commerce and technology competition for students and apprentices in the country. The aim of the competition is to encourage students and apprentices to excel in their chosen skilled trade or technology, and to create awareness of the many great career opportunities available to young people. SCNC 2023 features more than 550 competitors from across Canada who will participate in 45 skilled trade and technology competitions.
