Chicago Federal Reserve President Austin Goolsby expressed optimism in an interview on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”
- “If you don’t, the consequences for the financial system and the broader economy will be very negative.”
- “Even anticipating these problems has consequences for the economy, it has consequences for financial markets.”
Looking further, Goolsbee did not indicate whether or not he would support a rate hike at the FOMC meeting on June 13-14.
He said the full impact of the central bank’s rate hike so far is still trickling through and has yet to be felt. also:
