This Passover, even those who have not planned to spend their vacation in advance will be able to fly at a reasonable price. Returning to Ben Gurion Airport for foreign airlines, along with many Israelis hesitated to schedule the holidays, in fear of cancellation, has left relatively low prices until the last minute. This is unlike the same period last year, when, despite the security situation, made the decrease in supply impossible to take advantage of the last minute prices, because there were almost no seats. This also affects the prices of Israeli airlines, whose seats do not fill at the speed on previous holidays, and thus the tickets remain at attractive prices.
The “Globes” investigation finds that so far, in the midst of the intermediate days of Easter, trips can be found back and forth from Israel to nearby destinations with less than $ 250, and far and back destinations for less than $ 1,000.
On near and medium destinations, the effect of the return of low -cost airlines is feeling, while attractive prices can also be found on flights to North America, due to the resumption of US flights by US Airlines.
For example, the cheapest “Globes” trips for this week is a trip to Paphos with Tus Airways for only $ 122, while selling international flights to Larnaca for $ 129 and Rhodes for $ 140.
Also, the distant destinations also remain reasonable: Athens with ISRAIR for $ 153, and a salonic with Tus Airways for $ 201, and Crete with Blue Bird for $ 203. Tickets can also be purchased to destinations in Eastern Europe, such as Krakow for $ 205 with Ryanair or Varna for $ 207 or Sofia for $ 208 with Wizz Air.
For Western European destinations, there are also reasonable prices for flights with a circular flight at the last minute during this peak demand period. For example, an El ticket to Zurich for about $ 300, Berlin with ISRAIR for $ 308, Paris for $ 380 with Flybe, London with Wizz Air for $ 416.
The main differences in prices
Those who buy tickets through online websites can find much lower prices. These sites work as mediators between tourism service providers such as airlines (and other services such as hotels and car rental companies) and consumers, and allow fast and comfortable reservations over the Internet.
For example, the ISRAIR trip to Larnaca will cost on the last website (LastMinute.co.il) 129 dollars, or $ 138 via ALICE. On the contrary, it can be purchased directly from ISRAIR Airlines for more than twice the price – $ 366.
The reason for the difference in the price is that these sites sometimes enable to reach wholesale prices, or promotional offers allocated to commercial partners only, in order to fill the seats at the last minute, or waive the commissions in order to provide a competitive price. However, the low price sometimes comes at the expense of basic services such as luggage or seat choosing, so it is important to check exactly what is guaranteed.

The high approval of the state to distribute profits
But besides reasonable prices, online reservation has exciting defects. In the event of a change, cancellation or disruption of flying, the airline will refer the passenger to the site, and sometimes it is very difficult to obtain the service. Ticket conditions are not always clear, and money will be recovered, if necessary, a long time and pass through unnecessary bureaucracy.
Linking two different airlines will also be a problem: if one and the other is delayed, there is no responsibility or compensation. Therefore, before booking online, it is worth checking what you get and under any circumstances. Over the past 18 months, complaints have increased online and in courts about these sites, with many passengers in cases where flights were canceled without obtaining their money when they tried to contact the sites, or who faced a delay in receiving recovery.
