The founder and former CEO of Crown Castle (NYSE:CCI) is attempting to get boards at the owner of wireless-communication towers.
Ted Miller, who co-founded Crown Castle (CCI) in 1994 and was CEO from 1996 to 2001, recently nominated himself along with three others, including his son-in-law, according to a WSJ report late Wednesday, which cited people familiar with the matter.
The deadline to nominate Crown Castle directors for the company’s annual meeting in the spring is Saturday.
The news comes as activist investor Elliott Investor Management took a more than $2B stake in Crown Castle (CCI) in November and pushed for board changes and other moves.
With that, the company moved quickly to reassess its fiber business, including the exit of its CEO, formed a committee to conduct a strategic review of the fiber business, and appointed new board members.
