Ferrari partners with Samsung to develop in-car displays By Reuters

ROME (Reuters) – Italian supercar maker Ferrari (NYSE) said on Tuesday it has signed an agreement with Samsung (KS: Display) to use organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels in future car models.

CEO Benedetto Vigna said in a statement that the South Korean company will develop “custom OLED display solutions” for the next generation of Ferrari cars.

The heads of Ferrari and Samsung Display signed a memorandum of understanding in Asan, South Korea, for which no financial details were disclosed.

Vigna previously said that because Ferrari focuses investment on electrification, the company will use third-party suppliers for non-critical components or software.

Ferrari plans to unveil its first fully electric car in 2025.

Samsung Display, which plans to invest more than $3 billion in manufacturing OLED panels in Asan, is a unit of Samsung Electronics (OTC:).
