The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:), which fell 4.01% or 7.55 points to trade at 180.70 at the close. Zalando SE (ETR:) declined 3.97% or 1.05 points to end at 25.39 and Vonovia SE (ETR:) was down 1.67% or 0.43 points to 25.35.
The top performers on the MDAX were Stabilus (ETR:) which rose 2.32% to 57.30, Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:) which was up 2.32% to settle at 44.10 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:) which gained 2.24% to close at 39.20.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 32.02% to 9.64 in late trade, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:) which lost 3.09% to settle at 1.90 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:) which was down 2.70% to 12.26 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:) which rose 5.45% to 31.43, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:) which was up 2.24% to settle at 39.20 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which gained 1.64% to close at 22.30.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 32.02% to 9.64 in late trade, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:) which lost 2.20% to settle at 36.50 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which was down 2.14% to 100.40 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 340 to 250 and 38 ended unchanged.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 105.73.
