Mixed end to the day for the major indices

Major US stock indices ended the day with mixed results. It was the end of the day so there was some volatility at the end of the day, which may have affected price action.

At the close of trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed higher. The S&P and Nasdaq closed lower. The Russell 2000 Small Cap Index was the worst performer today, down -1.10%.

• The Russell 2000 Index rose 2.08% despite falling 1% today.
