“By equipping the CT 5300 with our unique NanoPanel Precise detector and ultra-low noise, precise image reconstruction technology, combined with our latest AI-driven CT Smart Workflow solution, we are integrating hardware, software and AI to deliver higher-quality care,” he said. “It’s productive, cost-effective and widely accessible,” said Dan Shaw, Head of CT Business at Philips. “The improvements in productivity and diagnostic confidence that AI can bring to CT are empowering care teams.” “And facilitating departmental workflow, helping to alleviate today’s chronic shortage of highly skilled radiologists and technicians.”
Integrated intelligent workflow based on artificial intelligence
Philips CT solutions include camera-based Smart Workflow Exact positionwhich improves vertical positioning accuracy relative to manual positioning by up to 50% during scan setup, increases user-to-user consistency by up to 70%, and reduces positioning time by up to 23% (1). Also included are Precise Cardiac, which compensates for heart motion to improve visualization of the coronary arteries during CT, even in patients with a rapid heartbeat, and Precise Brain, which automatically reformats scans to help improve visualization for quick, confident diagnosis of the anatomy in question. . In addition, Accurate image It provides fast, high-quality image reconstruction with 80% lower radiation dose, 85% less noise, and 60% improved low-contrast detectability (2), making the CT 5300 ideal for sites developing cardiac programs and ultra-low dose screening.

CT 5300 is seamlessly integrated with Advanced visualization workspacePhilips’ comprehensive, scalable, AI-powered image post-processing platform (3,4). This platform is designed to streamline radiology workflow to help deliver high-quality care, enhance diagnostic confidence, and accelerate image reading and reporting. The unique clinical depth and deployment capabilities of the Advanced Visualization Workspace allow it to scale to meet changing clinical needs and future expansion.
Collaboration with Annalise.ai to evaluate triage in emergency departments
Philips also announced a pilot with the medical imaging AI solutions company Annalise.ai To investigate the feasibility of Annalize Critical Care AI – a comprehensive critical triage support solution – to enhance triage support and improve workflow for conditions such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), which require time-critical intervention. This newly announced collaboration aims to evaluate ways to further streamline workflow and prioritize time-sensitive cases. The collaboration will achieve the integration of Annalize Critical Care AI – the most comprehensive AI-based triage product for chest X-ray and non-contrast brain CT available in the USA. By flagging and prioritizing 12 time-sensitive clinical outcomes that are often encountered in emergency departments, these AI capabilities help doctors focus on the most critical cases. This is especially important during nights and weekends when fewer staff are on duty, and delays in intervention pose a significant risk to patients.

“This is an exciting time for radiology. Our solutions are designed to streamline workflow and enhance the productivity of radiology teams. Together with Philips, we look forward to making high-quality care truly accessible,” said Dimitri Tran, co-founder and executive vice president of Annalise.ai.
AI for critical care has been shown to improve average report delivery times by up to 39% (5). It is the first computer-aided screening device to receive FDA Breakthrough Device designation and NTAP (New Technology Additional Payment) insurance for detecting obstructive hydrocephalus (water on the brain). Philips will also evaluate Annalize Enterprise CTB – a comprehensive clinical decision support solution that can detect up to 130 radiological findings – for sites outside the USA.
The Philips CT 5300 with Advanced Visualization Workspace will be on display at Philips booth #6730 at #RSNA24. Visit Phillips at RSNA For more information.
(1) Based on an internal Philips evaluation by five clinical experts, manual versus precision mode was compared in 40 clinical cases using a human body phantom.
(2) In clinical practice, the use of microimage may reduce patient CT dose depending on the clinical task, patient size, and anatomical location. A consultation with a radiologist and physicist should be undertaken to determine the appropriate dose to obtain diagnostic image quality for the specific clinical task. Dose reduction assessments were performed using reference body protocols with 1.0 mm slices in the “Smoother” setting of the micro imager, and tested on a MITA CT IQ Phantom (CCT189, The Phantom Laboratory) for 10 mm pin evaluation and comparison with filtered back projection. A range is seen across all four limbs, with the 2-channel hotel monitor, which includes 85% less image noise and improved low-contrast detectability from 0% to 60% at 50% to 80% dose reduction. The NPS curve shift is used to evaluate image appearance, as measured on a 20 cm water phantom in a 50 mm x 50 mm central region of interest, with an average shift of 6% or less.
