The Kremlin says Yevgeny Prigozhin is leaving for Belarus, a deal brokered by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. He agreed to leave the country in return for dropping the charges.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also said that Wagner fighters who did not take part in the uprising would sign contracts with the Defense Ministry, while those who did take part would not be charged.
There was no information about the changes, as did the Ministry of Defense, but previous rumors indicated that Shoigu would be replaced.
Peskov said Putin would make no further comment on the issue and the invasion of Ukraine would continue as normal.
I will not quite believe any of this until Prigozhin himself admits it, and he will certainly look over his shoulder for a long time.
