Ripple Co-Founder Endorses Harris’ Campaign Ahead Of Debate

Eighty-eight business leaders have joined in a letter supporting US Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign. Chris Larsen, co-founder and CEO of Ripple, was among the signatories to the “strategic” letter in support of the Democratic nominee.

This overwhelming endorsement comes just one day after Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed his support for Harris.

Ahead of the US election, many public figures, corporate leaders, politicians, and industry figures supported former US President Donald J. Trump’s presidential campaign. The Republican candidate’s industry-friendly approach received massive support from the industry, raising millions of dollars in cryptocurrency donations.

The community has also done Supported Democratic candidate and US Vice President Kamala Harris is organizing several initiatives and fundraising events to support her campaign despite her undeclared position on cryptocurrencies.

On Friday, CNBC reported that 88 corporate leaders had signed a letter declaring their support for Vice President Harris. Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen joined the ranks of figures endorsing the presidential candidate amid the company’s legal battle with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

However, the message was not intended to “persuade the general public to vote for Harris.” As the report explained, the message was intended to serve as a “timely political show of force” ahead of the September 10 debate against Republican nominee Donald Trump.

The letter of support said the signatories see the Democratic nominee as “the best way to support the continued strength, security, and reliability of our democracy and economy.” Additionally, the letter added that Harris’ election would continue a “sound business environment,” with the support of the business community.

The letter’s signatories include several high-profile public company CEOs, including Box’s Aaron Levie and Yelp’s Jeremy Stoppelman. Additionally, former PayPal CEO Dan Schulman and former 21st Century Fox CEO James Murdoch are among the signatories.

More people support Kamala Harris’ campaign

Billionaire cryptocurrency advocate Mark Cuban joined the Ripple co-founder in the endorsement letter. Cuban has previously been involved in crypto community initiatives, such as Crypto4Harris, which aims to advocate for the Democratic nominee and push for a more industry-friendly approach.

World leaders have also expressed support for Harris’s election. On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin endorsed the Democratic candidate’s campaign.

During the plenary session at the Eastern Economic Forum, Putin revealed that the Russian government will follow Biden’s recommendation to support Kamala Harris. The world leader also announced Praised The Vice President laughed at his statement:

I once said that if we could name a favorite, it would be Joe Biden, but now he’s not campaigning. He’s recommended (Kamala) Harris. So that’s what we’re going to do… Her laugh is so good. That means everything is fine.

The growing support for the Democratic presidential candidate comes amid reports that her campaign is accepting cryptocurrency donations. Most recently, it was reported that the vice president’s camp is using the Coinbase Commerce platform for donations.

It was later clarified that Harris did not begin accepting crypto donations directly. Instead, the Democratic nominee’s official political action committee, Future Forward, joined the platform and now accepts digital assets. However, this could signal a more friendly shift in the Harris campaign toward the sector.
