Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the industrials and services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the index was up 0.84%.
The session’s top performers on the S&P 500 were Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:), which rose 9.99%, or 4.25 points, to trade at 46.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Everlight Chemical Industrial Corp (TW:) added 9.98%, or 2.45 points, to close at 27.00 and Tong-Tai Machine Tool Co Ltd (TW:) was up 9.97%, or 3.50 points, to trade at 38.60 at the close.
Arima Communications Corp (TW:) was the worst performer of the session, falling 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 at the close. Lead data Inc. (TW:) stock fell 9.85%, or 0.39 points, to close at $3.57. Ace column Taiwan Paper Co., Ltd. (TW:) shares fell 4.50%, or 6.50 points, to 138.00.
Declining stocks outperformed advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by a ratio of 0 to 0.
Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:) shares rose to a 52-week high, up 9.99%, or 4.25, to 46.80. Arima Communications Corp (TW:) shares fell to an all-time low, down 9.95%, or 0.21, to 1.90. Everlight Chemical Industrial Corp (TW:) shares rose to a 52-week high, up 9.98%, or 2.45, to 27.00. Tong-Tai Machine Tool Co Ltd (TW:) shares rose to a 5-year high, up 9.97%, or 3.50, to 38.60.
Crude oil futures for October delivery rose 0.37%, or $0.28, to $76.19 a barrel. In other trading, Brent crude futures for November delivery rose 0.38%, or $0.30, to $79.12 a barrel, while gold futures for December delivery fell 0.52%, or $13.25, to trade at $2,547.05 an ounce.
The USD/TWD pair rose 0.28% to 31.98, while the TWD/CNY pair remained unchanged, up 0.40% to 0.22.
US dollar index futures rose 0.03% to 101.31.
