The Money Isn't Fixed Yet

1

Well, we did that, 100,000 Bitcoin here. I’m sure many of you are very happy with where your net worth stands right now, and all of you in this situation have had to exercise a great deal of self-control in order to hold on to your coins for the sake of earning them. to this position in the first place.

You’re all here because you were lucky in the beginning: you found Bitcoin at the right time, you had someone you trust introducing you to it, and the right set of events combined at the right time to make you take it seriously. This is not the reason you stay, it is the reason you persevere through everything. It took your effort and choice. But the reason you ended up here in the first place was luck.

I think it’s important to keep that in mind. It’s a combination of luck and your own effort that has gotten you this far, not just you, your brilliance, or your iron will. It is the meeting of the two.

This is truly the point of no return, a major shift in what will happen in the future. The problems will get more difficult, they won’t go away just because we’re richer now. With more money, comes more difficulties, and more challenges we will have to face. More money will bring in more people, all of whom will be convinced that these problems exist. Convinced that the solutions to them are matters on which we must act.

Fix the money, fix the world. This statement contains a great deal of truth, but the truth is that money is not fixed yet. The maximum supply is not the only money issue. There is the ability to seize, monitor and control your wealth. These issues are not solved simply because Bitcoin exists in limited supply.

To fix these problems, Bitcoin must scale. We need the network to be accessible to enough people that it prevents coins from accumulating in a handful of massive custodians that can be trivially seized by regulation. Without it, your money will be seized. It will be monitorable. None of these problems will be fixed.

So don’t let that price distract you from that. Check your ego, and keep a realistic perspective. Things haven’t been fixed yet just because of a number on the screen, not even close. There is still a lot to do before these basic money problems become a thing of the past.
